Terms of Service

Last updated: October 14, 2026

The short version

  • Your quote sets the scope, price and timeline. Changes to the scope can change the price.
  • We start once you accept the quote and pay the upfront deposit, and you approve every stage.
  • Revisions are included as stated in your quote.
  • Once you've paid in full, the final video is yours.
  • Payment portal fees are added to the final invoice, so we receive the amount we agreed.

1. About these terms

These terms apply to the website creativeexplainers.com (the "Site") and to any video production work we do for you. Creative Explainers ("we", "us", "our") is operated by CreativeLimit Studio, which works from the United States and the United Kingdom. "You" means the business or person who hires us or uses the Site. Our services are for business use.

When you accept a quote, or ask us to start work, you agree to these terms. Together with your quote, they are our whole agreement. If something in your quote differs from these terms, the quote wins.

2. What we do

We make explainer videos. Depending on your quote, that can include scriptwriting, storyboards, illustration, animation, voiceover, music and delivery of final files. The exact scope (video length, style, number of scripts, languages and formats) is written in your quote or proposal.

3. Getting started

  • Our quotes are valid for 15 days unless they say otherwise.
  • You accept a quote by replying in writing (email counts) or signing it.
  • We schedule your project once we receive your acceptance and your upfront deposit (see Section 7).

4. How a project runs, and your approvals

Most projects move through four stages: script, storyboard, animation and delivery. We ask for your written approval (an email is fine) at the end of each stage before moving to the next. Once you approve a stage, changing it later may take extra time and cost extra, because the later work is built on it.

We give you an estimated schedule. It depends on you sending materials and feedback on time. If feedback is late, the schedule moves by the same amount, and we will tell you if that affects the delivery date.

5. Revisions

Your quote includes 3 rounds of revisions at each stage. A "round" is one consolidated set of feedback from you. To keep things smooth, please gather everyone's comments into a single message.

Changes that go beyond the agreed scope, such as a longer video, a new style, a rewritten script after approval or extra versions, are quoted separately, and we will always check with you before doing extra work.

6. What we need from you

  • Accurate information, and the materials we ask for (such as logos, brand guidelines and product details).
  • A named person who can give approvals and speak for your business.
  • Confirmation that you own, or have permission to use, everything you give us. This includes logos, images, footage, music and written content.
  • Checking that the claims in your script are accurate and follow the laws that apply to your business. We write and design, but you are responsible for what your video says about your products and results.

7. Pricing, payments and fees

Prices are in US dollars unless your quote says otherwise, and exclude any taxes that apply.

  • Deposit: every project starts with an upfront deposit, due when you accept the quote. The amount is stated in your quote.
  • Larger projects: payments are divided into milestones that we agree with you in the quote.
  • Final payment: any remaining balance is due before we send the final, unwatermarked files.
  • How you can pay: credit or debit card, ACH or bank transfer, Stripe, and other online payment portals we offer.
  • Invoices are due within 7 days of the invoice date, or by the date stated in your quote or invoice.
Our promise on fees

About payment portal fees

The price of your video never changes. But payment portals like Stripe charge us a small processing fee on every card or online payment, and we want to receive exactly the amount we agreed together.

So when you pay through a portal, we add that fee to your final invoice as its own line. You will see it clearly before you pay, and we pass on only what the portal actually charges us.

Agreed project price+Payment portal fee=Your invoice total

Prefer to skip the fee? Pay by direct bank transfer or wire, from a business bank account only, and no portal fee is added. And where the law does not allow us to add a fee to a particular kind of payment (for example some debit card payments, or consumer cards in the UK and EU), we will not.

Late payments

If an invoice is overdue, we may pause work and hold back final files until it is paid. We may also charge interest on overdue amounts at 1.5% per month, or the highest rate the law allows if that is lower.

Cancelling or pausing

You can cancel at any time by telling us in writing. Deposits are not refundable once we have started work. You will pay for the work completed up to the date you cancel, and for third-party costs we have already committed to on your behalf (such as voice talent). If a project is on hold for more than 60 days because we are waiting on you, we may close it and invoice the work done so far, unless you have told us otherwise in writing and we have agreed a new timeline together.

8. Who owns what

  • The final video is yours. Once you have paid in full, you own the final delivered video and can use it for your business anywhere, for as long as you like.
  • Until you have paid in full, you may use drafts only to review them.
  • Your materials stay yours. You give us permission to use them only to make your video.
  • Our working files (project files, drafts, storyboards and source files) stay with us. They can be purchased on request.
  • Third-party elements such as music, stock assets, fonts and voice talent are licensed as described in your quote, and some may have limits on where or how long the video can be used.

9. Portfolio and confidentiality

We would love to show your finished video in our portfolio, but we will ask your permission first, and you can say no. We keep your unreleased projects, project materials and pricing confidential, and we expect you to do the same for our pricing and working methods. We may use trusted freelancers (such as illustrators and voice artists) who are bound by confidentiality, and we remain responsible for their work.

10. Results and responsibility

We will do our work with professional care and skill. Videos help explain and persuade, but we cannot promise particular results such as views, leads or sales, because those depend on many things outside our control.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total responsibility to you for anything connected to a project is limited to the amount you paid us for that project, and we are not liable for indirect or lost-profit losses. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that cannot legally be limited, such as for fraud. You agree to cover us against claims that the materials you give us infringe someone else's rights.

11. Using the Site

The Site and its content, including our designs, text and videos, belong to us or our licensors. Please do not copy, scrape or misuse them, or try to interfere with how the Site works. We work hard to keep the Site running well, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

12. Ending our agreement

Either of us can end a project if the other seriously breaks these terms and does not fix it within 10 days of written notice. We may also pause or stop work if an invoice stays unpaid. Parts of these terms that are meant to continue (such as ownership, payment, confidentiality and limits on responsibility) stay in effect afterwards.

13. If we disagree

Let's talk first. Email us, and we will work with you in good faith to sort it out. Most issues are solved with an honest conversation, and we are committed to finding a fair solution together.

14. Things outside our control

Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control, such as illness, power or internet failures, or natural disasters, as long as we tell each other promptly and do our best to carry on.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the "last updated" date at the top. Updates apply to new projects. Projects already underway keep the terms that applied when you accepted your quote. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
